Along with Ms. Walsh (on the far left), Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer and actresses Daphne Rubin-Vega and Cynthia Harris were also on hand to celebrate the city’s proclamation—and our Sept. 14 issue, as you can see from the photo! For the month of October, performing arts organizations from across the five boroughs will be offering free tickets as a way of introducing new audiences to New York City’s diverse Off-Broadway, independent theater, music and dance communities.
